Create your service zones

This guide is an outline — the Zynka team is completing it. The structure below shows what it will cover.

What this does​

Zones divide your service area into regions (Acme uses Mumbai West, Mumbai East, and Pune). Jobs are assigned to zones, and engineers work within them — so zones drive dispatching, workload views, and reporting.

Who can do this​

Company Admin.

Before you begin​

  • A list of the areas you serve, at whatever granularity you dispatch by (city, district, or neighbourhood)
  • Which engineers cover which areas

Steps​

Verify it worked​

  • TODO: Create a test job in a zone and confirm the right engineers are offered for assignment.

Common mistakes​

  • TODO: Too many tiny zones make dispatching harder, not easier — start coarse.
