Create your service zones
Work in progress
This guide is an outline — the Zynka team is completing it. The structure below shows what it will cover.
What this does
Zones divide your service area into regions (Acme uses Mumbai West, Mumbai East, and Pune). Jobs are assigned to zones, and engineers work within them — so zones drive dispatching, workload views, and reporting.
Who can do this
Company Admin.
Before you begin
- A list of the areas you serve, at whatever granularity you dispatch by (city, district, or neighbourhood)
- Which engineers cover which areas
Steps
Screenshots pending — will be captured from the Acme Field Services demo company.
- TODO: Creating a zone.
- TODO: Assigning engineers to zones.
- TODO: How zones appear when creating and dispatching a job.
Verify it worked
- TODO: Create a test job in a zone and confirm the right engineers are offered for assignment.
Common mistakes
- TODO: Too many tiny zones make dispatching harder, not easier — start coarse.
